My next series of posts are going to have a common theme, which is, how our system of health care and food production has severely damaged us. Kind of like my 7 part series titled, “The Science of Death and Destruction”, but only shorter and easier to understand. Before I get started with the first topic Crohn’s Disease, I thought I’d mention some facts that I found interesting and very disturbing.
1,000 capsules of Tylenol in a lifetime doubles the risk of end stage renal disease. Taking the correct drug for the correct diagnoses in the correct dose will kill about 106,000 Americans per year, making it the 4th most common cause of death in the U.S. NSAID drugs such as Ibuprofen, Naprosen, taken for arthritis will cause 16,500 Americans to bleed to death each year, making it number 15 on the causes of death list. I know, you don’t know 16,500 people so what’s the big deal.
Glutamate and aspartame can cause chronic pain, which is the reason why people take the above mentioned drugs. When eliminated from our diet for 4 consecutive months, the chronic pain often disappears. Chiropractic adjustments are 5 times more effective than these drugs that kill us. Also, 59% of patients with chronic pain in one study eliminated that pain with adequate levels of omega 3 fatty acids, also known as high quality fish oil. Vitamin D is an important co factor with omega 3’s and it’s side affect is the potential reduction of cancer deaths by 75%. The people that take the above drugs for pain have a 66% increased risk of dementia. Most doctors recommend these drugs and do not recommend chiropractic treatment. Now on with the show.
It’s more than just Crohn’s Disease that we’re getting an epidemic of, but here is what I found interesting about that disease.
It has directly increased over the past 50 years with the use of antibiotics. The antibiotics increase toxin production from the bacteria making them more invasive. Crohn’s Disease is caused in genetically susceptible people by intestinal bacteria whose biological properties have been altered by antibiotics.
Until 1950 Crohn’s Disease was rare. At that time with the advent of antibiotics the disease spread at epidemic levels. Antibiotics are used daily in livestock so you don’t have to be getting a prescription to be getting altered DNA by these antibiotics.
Crohn’s Disease is an infectious disease whose pathogen is controlled by our normal intestinal flora. The pathogen becomes toxic and invasive as the result of low level contact with non-killing (insufficient) amounts of antibiotics. When antibiotics are used early in life in large quantities, the incidence and prevalence of Crohn’s Disease is high. Children treated with antibiotics often develop Crohn’s disease.
With that in mind, you are not getting enough pre and probiotics. There are thousands of articles on this subject. I suggest you read one. More importantly take a bunch of different pre and probiotics.
