I used the example of the actress Christy McNichol who could not complete a movie because she was depressed. The Hollywood Movie Studios hired the very best psychiatrist and he told her to exercise, go run. She did. She was back on the set and finished the film a week later. The last line of the article said that the study in 2006 demonstrated that exercise was better than the antidepressant drugs handed out like candy. So much so that the drugs go from the urine in our toilets to the oceans and the fish are affected by it.
As much as I love to gloat let’s think about the two dates here and the consequences. This was known probably way before 1983, but it took 23 years of needless suffering for the 2006 study to be completed. It took another 18 years for it to be reviewed and placed in the public domain in 2024. I can almost guarantee this will be totally ignored and the sales of antidepressants will not be affected.
