It is only natural, especially in today’s economy, to be concerned about cost. I wrote extensively about my pricing on my website and it will remain incomplete because it would take an hour to explain all of the possible different factors that are involved in giving a price quote for making a house call, such as the time it will take to arrive at that address, is their parking, do I have to walk a half a mile through a giant apartment complex with heavy equipment, are there 3 flights of stairs, a giant hill leading to the house, is the case very complex, is the patient morbidly obese, etc.
I found that many people hang up when they realize that I only do house calls because they think that is going to cost them more than if they went to a conventional office. They don’t realize that it will probably cost more than my house call and more likely than not, depending upon how that doctor practices, they are not going to receive treatment towards the relief they are hoping for on that first visit. Then there are franchise offices that charge a first-time fee of only $29.00. No one can beat that, but most people are not happy to discover that they are going to be pressured into buying a membership for a year. Also, they don’t treat pain patients so the adage you get what you pay for is very true in this situation.
People don’t consider that it is more costly to operate a traditional clinic and to keep that clinic open they have to charge at least as much as I do. However, you will not be receiving the convenience of very personalized individual care that I can offer you at your home or place of work. It is more likely than not that you will not receive the level of treatment that I deliver considering the decades of experience that makes me a top expert in this particular field of urgent care. Because there is no one else in the next room I can provide you with undivided attention and more of it. Once I’m with you, I’m in no hurry to go anywhere else. The way medicine is practiced these days, you can’t put a price on that level of care and yet I have tried to. My fees are very reasonable for what you are going to receive. My average price for a new time patient that is in great pain is $250. I have colleagues that charge $1,000 and I don’t feel they deliver the level of care that I do. Please remember I also see non urgent care patients.
